WealthCare Webinar Series for Students of Personal Finance

With Covid-19, we’ve had a significant increase in the number of families who wanted to hire a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional.

Before the Coronavirus hit, there were already a lot of reasons to “do a little planning” in 2020. The SECURE Act is just one of those reasons to meet with your Financial Advisor in 2020.

BayRock had planned to provide ongoing “Live Workshops” from our offices here at the University of Houston Technology Bridge. Those plans had to be put on the shelf and we got to work creating a “Tele-Tax-Planning” webinar to address the most urgent issues for IRA and 401k Investors. Here’s what we had in mind as we created the WealthCare Webinar along with our educational resources.

How to Pay Lower Taxes, Save More Money, and Build a Better Retirement after Coronavirus.

The SECURE Act

The SECURE Act and Your IRA

You may have unique circumstances that result in a possible impact on the taxes (and penalties) that must be paid if a distribution is taken from your Traditional IRA. The exceptions to the usual distribution rules can be hard to remember especially since many exceptions rarely come up.

To help make this easier, we have created the “Will A Distribution From My Traditional IRA Be Penalty Free?” This flowchart helps to quickly identify unique situations that could have an impact on how a distribution is taxed (and penalized):

  • Implications for IRAs with nondeductible IRA contributions
  • Conditions that trigger the 10% early distribution penalty.
  • Situations that avoid the 10% early distribution penalty

Key Financial Numbers for 2020

Key Financial Numbers for 2020

There are lots of important numbers you may need to keep in mind.  In some cases, those numbers are annual limits and change each year.  Other times, the figures do not change, like the tables to calculate an RMD, but are used frequently. As a result, it can become easy to forget which figures should be referenced.

In response to this challenge, we’ve created the two-page “Important Numbers” guide.  This quick reference guide covers the most important annual limits as well as figures that are commonly referred to during the year.  It includes:

  • Tax rates for MFJ, Single and Estates
  • AMT annual limits
  • LTCG rates for MFJ, Single and Estates/Trusts
  • Standard deductions for MFJ and Single
  • Social Security annual limits (including earning limits)
  • Full Retirement Age chart
  • Social Security taxation summary for MFJ and Single
  • IRMAA Surcharges
  • Retirement Plan Annual Limits
  • Traditional and Roth IRA Annual Limits
  • Education Tax credits
  • Uniform Lifetime Table (abbreviated version)
  • Single Lifetime Table (abbreviated version)
  • Estate and gift tax annual limits
  • HSA annual limits
